What we sell, and only what we sell
RapidHeat is a plug-in PTC ceramic heater with a thermostat, timer and remote, sized for rooms up to about 12 m². We sell it direct from getrapidheat.co.uk with free tracked UK delivery and a 30-day money-back guarantee. That is the entire range. We are not a marketplace, and we do not sell through Amazon or eBay — listings using our name there are not ours.
Who writes these guides
Every guide on this site is written and checked by the RapidHeat UK team: the same people who answer support@getrapidheat.co.uk and handle returns. That gives us one useful advantage over a general review site — we read what customers actually tell us about their bedrooms, conservatories, sheds and caravans, including the complaints.
We are a retailer, not a body of independent testers, and we say so plainly. Where a question is about electrical safety or building regulations we point you to a qualified electrician rather than guess. Where our own product is the wrong answer — open-plan rooms, uninsulated garages, whole-house heating — we say that too, on is RapidHeat any good and RapidHeat vs the alternatives.
How we work out running costs
Every cost figure on this site uses the same simple, checkable arithmetic. There is no modelling and no assumption about your house:
Cost per hour = (watts ÷ 1,000) × pence per kWh
So a 1,200 W heater at 27p per kWh is 1.2 × 27 = 32.4p an hour at full power. Unless a page says otherwise, we use 27p per kWh as an illustrative UK electricity unit rate and about 6.5p per kWh for gas when comparing with central heating. Your own rate is printed on your bill and varies by region, tariff and meter type, so use ours as a worked example and swap in yours.
- Figures are for the element running continuously. With a thermostat, real use is often well under half of each hour once the room is warm — we say so rather than quoting a best case as if it were normal.
- Wattage sizing uses roughly 100 W per square metre for an insulated room, with 30–50% added for conservatories, garages, single glazing and high ceilings.
- We do not claim any electric heater is more efficient than another. All of them turn electricity into heat at 100%. Savings come from heating one room instead of the house, and from a thermostat and timer limiting how long the element runs.

How we price bundles
Bundle prices exist because posting three heaters costs us barely more than posting one, and most customers want a heater in more than one room. That saving is passed on rather than invented: £59 for one, £89 for two, £119 for three and £179 for four, all delivered free. Reviews and what we do with criticism
Our rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 1,247 UK customers. We publish the four-star reviews and the recurring criticisms — display brightness at night, and disappointment from anyone expecting one heater to warm a large open space. Removing those would make the page more flattering and less useful.
What we will not say
- That a plug-in heater will halve your heating bill.
- That it heats “any room” in a fixed number of minutes.
- That stock is running out, when it is not.
- That it is safe to leave any heater running unattended all night.

Perfect for my cold office
